social coracling in hampden

On last Saturday coraclers of North Otago got together at Hamden to explore the lagoon. The afternoon was cloudy, but not windy. We paddled up the Big Kuri creek a bit.


JB arrives in fashion, while vintage thermette is readying for action.

JB says, "I can recommend this place i think it is the nicest coracle
location so far. Sheltered overhanging trees river bends to see what is
around the corner of, a bridge to paddle under and blackberries and
mushrooms. It was very peacefull a complete island of nature".

Over a driftwood fire, thermette tea was served, some fine stolen was shared between the participants. JB cooked sausages and we shared some red wine. We had fun.
