Footy's Grand Final in Japanese

２０１３年，何年ぶりかでオーストラリア式フットボールリーグの優勝決定戦の行われる９月最終土曜日をオーストラリアで過ごした。考えてみりゃ，もう６年、フッティがほとんど知られていないところで過ごしたことになる。自分のチームがでてない年はそれほど興味もなかったに、瓢箪からこま，今年は決勝戦を日本語でネットで実況するはめに。

決勝戦が行われるメルボルンは１週間前からフッティ一色。その街で，こんなにフッティ三昧で罰が当たらないかしらと自問するほど，調査と称してフッティに浸りきった。

当日は自分と同じチームのファン，ゆいちゃんと「美女と野獣」が日本語で実況解説。今年の試合は日本語のほかには中国語、ギリシャ語（メルボルンは世界第二のギリシャ人口を抱える都市），トルコ語にアラビア語、フランス語にドイツ語など合計１０の言語で放送された。

ラジオは経験があると言ってもスポーツの実況は初めて。しかもオーストラリア式フットボールなんてちゃんと日本語になってないし，ルールもほかの蹴球とえらく違う。まあ，それでも何とかなったのかな。

(another) Red Star

Once there was the Red Star on Elizabeth St with the Victor Vinyl upstairs. Many a creative discussions were had over delicious lunch and endless cups of great coffee. Books, radio programs and various other subversive outputs resulted.

So it was a surprise to find another Red Star cafe in Hepburn. Though this one does not play Vic's selection of quirky music, it nonetheless greets you with its own selection of good music, like Cohen, Cash and Cave kind. It has a great atomos with lots of red star paraphernalia. And of course, great coffee. Love this one. Who knows, something creative may come out from this Red Star too.

My mate from the Kamogawa farm is just about to give me a lift to the nearest railway station. We had had lots of fun while I was there.
Look forward to visiting there when the radiation level goes down a bit.
On the way to resume my life in Oz.
