After the arrival of (Black) Francis, our trusty old house cow Jenny is producing a huge amount of milk every day.


Nearly a bucketful from one milking session this morning. a knitter's natter has been busy turning milk into other products such as butter and cheese.


Using a secondhand butter churn, she turns the cream into butter and buttermilk. We found we'd never tasted butter milk so good.



We never knew how brilliantly yellow (almost orange) butter could look. Thanks Jenny.
