For a while they were laying eggs where we wanted them to, but soon they began laying eggs wherever they felt like. As a result, we have to go hunting around, but whenever we locate a nest, the chooks move on to some other place.
For a week or so, we had a fewer eggs again and we were wondering where their new nest was. Or, maybe some of them must have stopped laying.
We did not think there was a secret nest hiding at the base of a rosh bush.
Our friend Ashleigh turned up one day and helped us to look for the nest. She spent a few minutes hunting around the garden before she spotted it.
We put the eggs in water to see if they were too old. None of them floated which meant they were all fine and fresh. Thanks Ashleigh.
