Our flock of chooks increased so much within twelve months that we needed a subdivision.
We now have four clans each with a rooster - silver wyandottes, sicilian buttercups, welsomers and dorkings.



Because the dorkings have the smallest population, they moved to this new house (with a view of Moeraki and the Pacific Ocean).



The design is based on one I found in the classic "Handy farm and home devices" published by Cornstalk books (p. 244).
Some adjustments were called for because most of the materials were salvaged from the local tip.
