A coracle or cwrwgl in Welsh is a traditional one person boat originating in Wales. The design and construction is fairly simple and hence similar boats are found all over the world. There is a growing interest around the North Otago region and JB has been one of the prime movers in the coracle making movement around here. He (along with Louis, Eliza and Henry) took time off and came around today so we resumed from where we left off some months ago.
Helped by beer, soup, cake and tea between some tricky work, we managed to nearly finish the boat.
We still need to do some sawing and water proofing as well as making an oar, but it is nearly done. We will soon be able to go paddling in our dam. Thanks for your help John.
